Subject: Opening night at the Garden
This run had many good to excellent moments and this night offers up a few. The first set features the last TLEO the band would play and mid set is very good with a emotional So Many Roads followed up by s set stealing Maggie's Farm>Cumberland.
The Easy Answers works this night lol but Deal is very short. The China Cat is somewhat disjointed but Jerry rights the ship for a stronger IKYR. His ending solo raises the energy nicely.
Women are Smarter is very good and the rest of he pre drums is good with UJB ending very strongly into drums.
The D/S is excellent and pushes this set to a second half peak. Jerry and Phil are really in their element during a long space that arrives at a wicked pissa Watchtower, ok its not 1989 but still very good, that dissolves into yet another set ending SOTM at the Garden, which is full of passion and inspired playing.
Jerry's vocals are strong through out this show and shine on this rendition. His plea's of passion and yearning are dramatic and gratefully received by us in attendance that night.
They close out strongly going old school with JBG.
